The West Chilcotin is well known for their large amounts of upland
game birds. At Tsylos Park Lodge we frequently hunt grouse in combination with other hunts
as well as offering a "Cast & Blast" vacation, where you can experience a
combination of world-class fly fishing on the Chilko River and Upland Bird Hunting as
well. We have Spruce, Franklin, Ruffed, Sharp-tailed and two kinds of Ptarmigan. We hunt
grouse with either a .22 or a shot- gun. Dogs are rarely used. This hunting can be on foot
or horse. Depending on the day, 3-10 birds are common.
