Karen McLean became involved with
the lodge and guiding business at a very young age. Her love for Chilko is very clear. As
Owner / Operator of Tsylos Park Lodge & Adventures, Karen takes her role as steward of
the land very serious. Her love for Chilko’s wildlife and pristine beauty of the area
is easily seen. Karen is a wonderful host and does a great job in making sure that
everyone has a great time!

Bud McLean started
guiding at Chilko Lake in 1957. Bud is a world-class guide and storyteller! Bud knows the
Chilko area better than anyone and loves to show people its beauty. Bud spends many days
guiding on Chilko Lake, Chilko River and on the trail. He is the reining champion of the
horseshoe pits!

Matt Engene, also known
as the "Professor" lives in the Okanogan Valley of British Columbia. He guides
our fly fishing guests on the river and lake with great knowledge and enthusiasm. Matt is
an excellent fly casting instructor and accomplished fly tier.

Sean Patrick guides fly fishing,
horseback riding, pack trips and fall hunting as well as helping in the winter months.

|
|
Kalin Brockhaus has spent her
summers at the lodge for many years. Kalin is Karen McLean’s niece and attends
University of Alberta in Edmonton. She is excellent with the horses and a great trail
guide...is this going to be a third generation?

|
Russ Bouveur has been imported from
Vancouver Island to the Chilcotin. An accommodating guide, whether on the river, lake or a
hunt. Russ is an avid outdoor enthusiast and loves to share his experiences with others.

|
Gerry Frederick grew up in southern
British Columbia on the river! Gerry has been guiding out of drift boats for many years.
He has great knowledge of waters and fish habitat. Gerry is lucky enough to be a great
snowboarder as well, and can spend his off-season working with skiers and boarders at a
first class mountain.

Corrine McLean can always be found
picking or planting flowers at her new log home or at the lodge. Devoting much of her time
to family, Corrine also takes part in many community events and functions.

|
|
Nancy Opperman, Karen’s sister,
lives in Williams Lake, BC. She has her own consulting business and plays an active role
in community planning.
|
|
|
|
Larry McLean, Karen’s brother,
lives in Portland, Oregon and works as in the technology industry. It is always fun when
Larry comes up to Chilko for a visit!
